Delivery Guidelines
Our Delivery Guidelines are created to ensure a smooth and hassle-free delivery of your storage container. Please take a moment to review them, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Drop Site: Both the area where your container will be placed and the ground where the truck will park need to be level, or at most, have a slight incline of no more than five degrees. If the truck has to navigate sloping terrain while unloading, it may cause damage to the equipment, and the driver may refuse to unload the container.
Suitable Road Surfaces: Paved roads like concrete or asphalt are ideal for container deliveries. If you’re in a rural area, we can still deliver, but the site must be accessible via a maintained two-lane county road. Unsuitable surfaces include loose dirt, sand, mud, snow, steep slopes, drains, ditches, and areas with soft soil or grass. Also, be sure to clear the delivery site of rocks, tree stumps, and other debris that might damage our equipment. Keep in mind, our delivery trucks are typically not four-wheel drive and may struggle on uneven or off-road surfaces.
Weight Distribution: When placing the container, it must be positioned so that its weight is evenly distributed across the four steel corner castings. Uneven distribution could cause the container to twist, making it difficult to open and close the doors. You can use pavers, wooden blocks, or railroad ties to help level the container, but ensure the surface is flat.
How to Level a Shipping Container:
Height and Width Restrictions: A minimum height and width of 14 feet is required. During unloading, the driver will lift the container off the trailer, and the highest point of the container is about 20 feet. Check for low-hanging branches, gates, or eaves that could damage the tractor or trailer. To ensure safety, we recommend having two people on site to help spot obstacles that may hinder visibility or clearance.
Length Restrictions: For a 20ft container, we need at least 60 feet of clear space in a straight line. For a 40ft container, we need a minimum of 100 feet.
Trucks cannot make turns while unloading your container.
Door Orientation: Please specify whether you’d like the container’s doors facing the cab of the truck or facing the back when it’s delivered.
